In philosophy, a term employed by Kant to describe a judgment in which the predicate is not contained within the subject; for example, is synthetic, since every flower is not blue. It is the converse of analytic.
1. Not genuine or natural.
2. Involving or of the nature of synthesis (combining separate elements to form a coherent whole) as opposed to analysis.
