Im Bereich Edelmetall hat der Deckel eine besondere Bedeutung, da er bei Silberkorpuswaren je nach Zeitstilen geordnet ein mehr oder weniger reich verziertes Objekt darstellt. Je nach der Art des Deckels kann dieser auch noch mit einem Knauf versehen sein.
