A microprocessor from Intel intended for use in laptop computers. The 80386SL has similar features to the 80386SX, but it also has capabilities for reducing its power consumption. In particular, the 80386SL can reduce its clock speed to zero when not in use and return to full speed, with the contents of all its registers intact, when called on to perform another task.
