An instrument for measuring fluid pressure. Typically a U-shaped tube in which opposing fluid pressures reach an equilibrium. The pressure is equal to the differences in the levels of the fluid on either side of the tube.
Instrument for measuring pressure of a liquid or gas.
Instrument measuring pressure of gases, or blood-pressure. Instrument for measuring the pressure of liquids (including human blood pressure) or gases. In its basic form, it is a U-tube partly filled with colored liquid; pressure of a gas entering at one side is measured by the level to which the liquid rises at the other.
