ETYM Latin colon, colum, limb, member, the largest of the intestines, from Greek: cf. French colon. Related to Colic.

Završni deo kanala za varenje, dužine 1.5-2 m, a proteže se od tankog creva do čmarnog otvora (anus.). Na njemu se razlikuju tri dela: slepo crevo, sito crevo i čmarno crevo.
