1. Rechteckiges Blatt aus festem Karton, meist in genormter Größe, z.B. Post-K., Kartei-K., Spiel-K.
2. Verkleinerte, vereinfachte Grundrißdarstellung der Erdoberfläche oder eines Teils von ihr, anderer Weltkörper oder des Weltraums. Art und Fassungskraft einer K. werden in erster Linie vom Verkleinerungsverhältnis gegenüber der Natur, den sog. K.maßstab, sowie der Projektion bestimmt. Katasterkarten (1:500 bis 1:5 000) enthalten Informationen über Eigentumsverhältnisse. Zu den topograph. Karten (mit Grundrißdarstellung, Relief, Kennzeichnung von Gewässern und Vegetation) gehören die Grund-K. (1:5 000), das Meßtischblatt (1:25 000), die Generalstabskarte (1:100 000) u.a.

2. A summons issued to an offender (especially to someone who violates a traffic regulation).
