Plante aromatique de la famille des labiées, que l'on trouve dans les garrigues du Midi de la France ou que l'on cultive dans les jardins et que l'on utilise en cuisine pour parfumer les sauces ou, plus rarement, comme tisane.

Herb, genus Thymus, of the mint family Labiatae. Garden thyme t. vulgaris, native to the Mediterranean, grows to 30 cm/1 ft high, and has pinkish flowers. Its aromatic leaves are used for seasoning.
