A loud cry or call
1. To utter a sudden loud cry; SYN. shout out, cry, call, yell, scream, holler, hollo, squall.
2. To utter in a loud voice; talk in a loud voice (usually denoting characteristic manner of speaking)
To use all capital letters for emphasis in e-mail or a newsgroup article. Excessive shouting is considered a violation of netiquette. A word can be more acceptably emphasized by placing it between or _underscores_. See also netiquette.
