Any of an Irish breed of small hardy black dairy cattle

County of the Republic of Ireland, in the province of Munster; county town Tralee; area 4,700 sq km/1,814 sq mi; Low lying in the N, to the S are the highest mountains in Ireland, including Carrantuohill (part of Macgillycuddy's Reeks), the highest peak in Ireland at 1,041 m/3,417 ft. The western coastline is deeply indented and there are many rivers and lakes, notable of which are the Lakes of Killarney.
Industries include engineering, woolens, shoes, cutlery, fishing, farming; tourism is important.
