Able to remove hair or render hairless.
1. A chemical (usually a sulfide) used to remove hair or wool or bristles from hides.
2. A cosmetic for temporary removal of undesired hair.
Any instrument or substance used to remove growing hair, usually for cosmetic reasons. Permanent eradication is by electrolysis, the destruction of each individual hair root by an electrolytic needle or an electrocautery, but there is a danger of some regrowth as well as scarring.
