Business organization with limited liability where each stockholder has only one vote however many shares they own. In a worker cooperative, it is the workers who are the stockholders and own the company. The workers decide on how the company is to be run. In a consumer cooperative, consumers control the company. Co-op shops and superstores are examples of consumer cooperatives. They are owned by regional cooperative retail groups.
