(Redmond) (1908-) Canadian novelist. From a Novia Scotia farming background, he has published verse and distinguished short stories, including The Rebellion of Young David and Other Stories 1975. He he is best known for his first novel, The Mountain and the Valley 1952, which traces the secret growth of artistic vision in a country boy.
