Množina: Hathors
(temenos (dwelling) of Horus) In ancient Egyptian mythology, the sky goddess, the wife or mother of Horus, also goddess of dance, music, and love, corresponding to the Greek Aphrodite. She is depicted as a cow, since texts describe her as the great celestial cow who created all the world; or she is depicted as a human with a helmet in the shape of a sun-disc with cow's horns. She was popular with women, as their protector, and was later associated with Isis.
The center of her cult was Dendera, where a Ptolemaic temple was built and dedicated to her, and where she is embodied as a sistrum (a musical instrument thought to drive away evil spirits).
