(1907–1978) and Ray (1916–1988) US designers. A husband-and-wife team, they worked together in California 1941–78. They created some of the most highly acclaimed furniture designs of the 20th century: a molded plywood chair 1945–46; the Lounge Chair, a black leather-upholstered chair 1956; and a fiberglass armchair 1950–53.
