(1894-1974) Indian physicist who formulated the Bose–Einstein law of quantum theory with Einstein. He was professor of physics at the University of Calcutta 1945–58. The boson particle is named for him.
(1858-1937) Indian physicist and plant physiologist. He was professor of physical science at Calcutta 1885–1915, and studied the growth and minute movements of plants and their reaction to electrical stimuli. He founded the Bose Research Institute, Calcutta.
