A tooth for cutting or gnawing; located in the front of the mouth in both jaws.
Sharp tooth at the front of the mammalian mouth. Incisors are used for biting or nibbling, as when a rabbit or a sheep eats grass. Rodents, such as rats and squirrels, have large continually-growing incisors, adapted for gnawing. The elephant tusk is a greatly enlarged incisor. In humans, the incisors are the four teeth at the front center of each jaw.
