T-shaped top, often made of stretch cotton or a cotton mix, usually with short sleeves, although long sleeves are also used. T-shirts are normally worn as summer clothing or sportswear.
Originally worn by soldiers under their uniforms during World War I, the T-shirt was later adapted for laborers. Since the 1960s they have been popular fashion garments and are often printed with slogans, designs, patterns, and images.
