ld Testament, which relates the departure of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt, under the leadership of Moses, for the Promised Land of Canaan. The journey included the miraculous parting of the Red Sea, with the pharaoh's pursuing forces being drowned as the waters returned.
The Exodus is also recorded in the Hagadda, which is read at the Seder (during the Jewish festival of Passover) to commemorate the deliverance. During the 40 years of wandering in the wilderness, Moses brought the Ten Commandments down from Mount Sinai.
