(1507-1536) The second wife of Henry VIII of England and mother of Elizabeth I; was executed on a charge of adultery.
Queen of England 1533–36. Henry VIII broke with the pope (see Reformation) in order to divorce his first wife and marry Anne. She was married to him 1533 and gave birth to the future Queen Elizabeth I in the same year. Accused of adultery and incest with her half brother (a charge invented by Thomas Cromwell), she was beheaded.
