(c. 1399-1464) Netherlandish artist. He was official painter to the city of Brussels from 1436. He painted portraits and religious subjects, such as The Last Judgment about 1450 (Hôtel-Dieu, Beaune). His refined style had considerable impact on Netherlandish painting.
Little is known of his life, and none of his works has been dated, but he was widely admired in his day and his paintings were sent to Italy, Spain, France, and Germany. His Deposition before 1443 (Prado, Madrid) shows the influence of Robert Campin. + prikaži više
