Priamos
Priamos, König von Troja, ist Sohn des Laomedon. Eigentlich heißt er Podarkes. Priamos wurde er genannt, als er bei der Zerstörung Trojas durch Herakles von seiner Schwester Hesione losgekauft worden war. Von seiner Gattin Hekabe und Nebenfrauen hatte er zahlreiche Kinder, so Hektor, Kassandra, Paris, Helenos, Polydoros, Ilione und Polyxene.
Im Trojanischen Krieg löste er den Leichnam des gefallenen Hektor bei Achilleus aus. Bei der Eroberung Trojas durch die Griechen floh er an einem Altar des Zeus und wurde dort von Neoptolemos erschlagen.

In Greek mythology, the last king of Troy, husband of Hecuba and father of many sons and daughters, including Cassandra, Hector, and Paris. He was killed by Pyrrhus, son of Achilles, when the Greeks entered the city of Troy concealed in a huge wooden horse which the Trojans believed to be a gift to the city.
