(1909-1984) English film actor. He portrayed romantic villains in British films of the 1940s. After Odd Man Out 1947 he worked in the US, often playing intelligent but troubled, vulnerable men, notably in A Star Is Born 1954. He returned to Europe 1960, where he made Lolita 1962, Georgy Girl 1966, and Cross of Iron 1977.
Other films include The Wicked Lady 1946, Five Fingers 1952 and North by Northwest 1959. His final role was in The Shooting Party 1984. + prikaži više
