(Russian Beloye More) Gulf of the Arctic Ocean, on which the port of Archangel stands. There is a warship construction base, including nuclear submarines, at Severodvinsk. The North Dvina and Onega rivers flow into it, and there are canal links with the Baltic, Black, and Caspian seas.
