He wrote and directed Star Wars 1977 and wrote and produced The Empire Strikes Back 1980 and Return of the Jedi 1983. His other films as director are THX 1138 1971 and American Graffiti 1973. Later works as a producer include Raiders of the Lost Ark 1981, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom 1984, Willow 1988, and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade 1989.

(1937-) US economist, leader of the University of Chicago school of “new classical” macroeconomics, which contends that wage and price adjustment is almost instantaneous and that the level of unemployment at any time must be the natural rate (it cannot be reduced by government action except in the short term and at the cost of increasing inflation).
