(c. 1406-1469) Italian painter. His works include frescoes depicting the lives of St Stephen and St John the Baptist in Prato Cathedral 1452–66. He also painted many altarpieces of Madonnas and groups of saints.
Lippi was born in Florence and patronized by the Medici family. The painter and biographer Giorgio Vasari gave a colorful account of his life including how, as a monk, he was tried in the 1450s for abducting a nun (the mother of his son Filippino).

(c. 1457-1504) Italian painter of the Florentine school. He was trained by Botticelli. He produced altarpieces and several fresco cycles, full of detail and drama, elegantly and finely drawn. He was the son of Filippo Lippi.
His frescoes, typical of late 15th-century Florentine work, can be found in Sta Maria sopra Minerva, Rome, in Sta Maria Novella, Florence, and elsewhere.
