The mascot of the Linux operating system. Tux is a rotund cartoonish penquin and the Tux image is available for use by any provider of Linux products or services. The name Tux is both short for tuxedo, in reference to a penguin’s appearance, and an acronym for Torvalds’s UniX, after Linus Torvalds, the creator of the Linux operating system.
