(1946-) US millionaire property financier who for his headquarters in 1983 built the skyscraper Trump Tower in New York. He owns three casinos in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
The son of a builder, Trump studied finance and in 1974 negotiated his first big property deal, rebuilding the Commodore Hotel, Manhattan, with financial help from the Hyatt Corporation. In addition to Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue, he built nearby Trump Parc and bought the Plaza Hotel in 1983. One of his casinos is named Trump's Castle.
