In many cultures, talismans are tied to babies from birth to protect them, and even such an object as an automobile may have a talisman tied to it to protect those traveling in it. Common talismans are the Eye of Horus, which is now found throughout both Muslim and Christian Mediterranean countries, and the Hand of Fatima.
