Incapable of being mixed without separation phases.
Water and petroleum oil are immiscible under most conditions, although they can be made miscible with the addition of an emulsifier.
Describing liquids that will not mix with each other, such as oil and water. When two immiscible liquids are shaken together, a turbid mixture is produced. This normally forms separate layers on being left to stand.
