Clay capable of withstanding high temperatures that is used especially for firebrick and crucibles.
A clay with refractory characteristics (resistant to high temperatures), and hence suitable for lining furnaces (firebrick). Its chemical composition consists of a high percentage of silicon and aluminum oxides, and a low percentage of the oxides of sodium, potassium, iron, and calcium.
