(1920-) Italian architect and furniture designer. Active in Milan from 1945, he was a member of the generation which created the postwar modern Italian design movement. He has worked closely with the Arflex and Cassina companies, among others, to create many lasting furniture designs in the modern style.
Examples from the 1960s include chairs and tables in brightly colored plastics, while more recently his “Sindbad” sofa for Cassina 1981 has shown that Italy could still lead the way in elegant modern design.
