Fashion label identified with a short-sleeved tennis shirt with a collar, button-down neck, and small crocodile emblem on the chest. It was launched in 1933 by a French tennis star, René Lacoste (1905–), who was nicknamed “le Crocodile” because of his aggressive nature on the court.
