(1877-1946) German Nazi politician and governor of part of Czechoslovakia in World War II. As minister of the interior 1933–43 he was responsible for many of the laws and decrees which kept the Nazi party firmly in control of Germany. He became Reichs Protector for Bohemia and Moravia 1943, although his secretary Frank actually wielded most of the power. Arrested after the war, he was tried at Nuremberg and hanged Oct 1946.
