Verovanje koje prethodi rasuđivanju ili sudu kojim se podsvesno donese izvesni zaključci, čime se pravi smetnja objektivnom rasuđivanju; to je zaključivanje na nereprezentativnom uzorku osobina, obično nerealno preuveličanih, kao bitnih obeležja ličnosti o kojoj se zaključuje, a aztim se nekoliko takvih slučajeva uopštava na celu grupaciju o kojoj se donose zaključci; tako nastaje gruba greška u zaključivanju, tj. stvara se zabluda, pogrešno mišljenje, gledište, uverenje o kome, o čemu, koje nije osnovano na proverenim činjenicama i često je u suprotnosti s logičkim rasuđivanjem (lat.)
