Chewing gum consists of synthetic or vegetable gum with color, flavoring, and sometimes sweetener added. Toffee and caramel are made from sugar, glucose, animal fat, milk, and cream or vegetable fat, heated and shaped. The US is the biggest producer of candy, though the UK has the highest consumption, with millions of pounds spent each year on advertising.
