Adopted name of Michael Shalhoub (1932-) Egyptian-born actor (of Lebanese parents). He was Egypt’s top male star before breaking into international films after his successful appearance in Lawrence of Arabia 1962.
His films include Dr Zhivago 1965, Funny Girl 1968, and Funny Lady 1975.
