(1939-) Australian film director, based in the US. He established his reputation with two important films made at the height of the revival of the Australian film industry Devil’s Playground 1976 and The Chant of Jimmie Blacksmith 1978 both of which he also wrote and produced.
Other films include Iceman 1984, Plenty 1985, and The Russia House 1990. In 1988 he returned to Australia to direct Evil Angels, based on the trial of Lindy Chamberlain.
