beret
IPA: / beʁˈɛ /With no brim or bill; made of soft cloth.
Soft circular woolen or felt cap, without a brim or peak, considered to be of Roman or Greek origin. The two most common beret styles are the Basque, which has a narrow band around the base, and the Modelaine, which does not have a band.
Berets became fashionable in the 1880s when they were trimmed with flowers, feathers, or ribbons. Since 1900 they have often been worn unadorned.
