'induct' značenje u engleski leksikon

inductance

imenicaIPA: / ɛ̃dyktˈɑ̃s /

The ability to store energy in the form of a magnetic field. Any length of wire has some inductance, and coiling the wire, especially around a ferromagnetic core, increases the inductance. The unit of inductance is the henry. Compare capacitance, induction.
(Physics) A property of an electric circuit by which an electromotive force is induced in it by a variation of current; SYN. induction.
inertialike property of electrical circuit causing time to elapse before full value of current is established, or before zero is reached when curr
ent is removed; property of a circuit by virtue of which induction takes place.
In physics, a measure of the capability of an electronic circuit or circuit component to form a magnetic field or store magnetic energy when carrying a current. Its symbol is L, and its unit of measure is the henry.
The magnetic field produced induces voltages in the same circuit or a nearby circuit.

In obstetrics, deliberate intervention to initiate labor before it starts naturally; then it usually proceeds normally.
Induction involves rupture of the fetal membranes (amniotomy) and the use of the hormone oxytocin to stimulate contractions of the womb. In biology, induction is a term used for various processes, including the production of an enzyme in response to a particular che
mical in the cell, and the differentiation of cells in an embryo in response to the presence of neighboring tissues.
In obstetrics, induction is recommended as a medical necessity where there is risk to the mother or baby in waiting for labor to begin of its own accord.

induction

imenicaelektronikaIPA: / ɛ̃dyksjˈɔ̃ /

ETYM Latin inductio: cf. French induction. Related to Induct.
The creation of a voltage or current in a material by means of electric or magnetic fields, as in the secondary winding of a transformer when exposed to the changing magnetic field caused by an alternating current in the primary winding. See also impedance. Compare inductance.
An electrical phenomenon whereby an electromotive force (emf) is generated in a closed circuit by a change in the flow of current.r /> The process whereby changes in the current flow in a circuit produce magnetism or an emf.
Electricity, production of electrified or magnetic state in body by the near presence of a charged or magnetized body; production of a current in a circuit by a variation in the magnetic field linked with it or in current in an adjacent circuit.

induction

imenicaIPA: / ɛ̃dyksjˈɔ̃ /

In philosophy, the process of observing particular instances of things in order to derive general statements and laws of nature. It is the opposite of deduction, which moves from general statements and principles to the particular.
Induction was criticized by the Scottish philosopher David Hume because it relied upon belief rather than valid reasoning. In the philosophy of science, t
he “problem of induction” is a crucial area of debate: however much evidence there is for a proposition, there is the possibility of a future counterinstance that will invalidate the explanation. Therefore, it is argued, no scientific statement can be said to be true.

induction coil

imenicaelektronikaIPA: / ˌɪnˈdəkʃn̩ ˌkɔɪl /

Type of electrical transformer, similar to an ignition coil, that produces an intermittent high-voltage alternating current from a low-voltage direct current supply.
It has a primary coil consisting of a few turns of thick wire wound around an iron core and passing a low voltage (usually from a battery). Wound on top of this is a secondary coil made up of many turns of thin wire. An
iron armature and make-and-break mechanism (similar to that in an electric bell) repeatedly interrupts the current to the primary coil, producing a high, rapidly alternating current in the secondary circuit.A device for producing a high voltage from a low-voltage source.
