Saturation with carbon dioxide (as soda water).
In earth science, a form of chemical weathering caused by rainwater that has absorbed carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and formed a weak carbonic acid. The slightly acidic rainwater is then capable of dissolving certain minerals in rocks. Limestone is particularly vulnerable to this form of weathering.
