River in the Indian subcontinent, a tributary of the Indus. It rises in India, forms the boundary between India and Pakistan for some 110 km/70 mi, and enters Pakistan above Lahore, capital of Punjab province, on its 725-km/450-mi course. It is an important source of water for the Punjab irrigation canal system.
