Heimdall | engleski leksikon

1. Heimdall

God of dawn and light; guardian of Asgard; Also called: Heimdal, Heimdallr.
Norse god of light, who was present at the birth of the world and who watches over the other gods. A vague figure, of whom no clear stories exist, he was believed to be the god who would usher in the twilight of the gods, just as he had been present at the start of the world.
He guarded the road to the home of the gods and his greatest enemy was Loki, who took pleasure in mocking Heimdall's devotion to duty.
