(1969-) German lawn-tennis player who brought Martina Navratilova's long reign as the world's number-one female player to an end. Graf reached the semifinal of the US Open 1985 at the age of 16, and won five consecutive Grand Slam singles titles 1988–89. In 1994 she became the first defending Wimbledon ladies' singles champion to lose her title in the first round.
